Garage Door Insulation in Toronto & GTA
Retrofit kits and full insulated-door swaps — keep heat in, fuel bills down.
Call Us At (647) 763-7374 for your garage door repair and installation.

We diagnose the whole door, not just the loud part.
If your garage shares a wall or ceiling with a room you actually live in — kitchen above the garage, bedroom beside it, finished basement under it — an un-insulated door is a giant hole in your building envelope. Toronto winters drop to -20°C; an aluminum-skin door with no foam in it leaks heat all night, and your furnace pays for it.
We do two things: retrofit polystyrene panels into the existing door (R-6 to R-8 typical, fastest fix, 2–3 hours on-site), or swap to a 3-layer steel-poly-steel insulated door (R-12 to R-18, permanent, also kills 80% of the door noise). We'll tell you on the phone which one makes sense for your door — retrofit only works on a door whose sections can take the added weight without re-springing.
Either path includes re-tensioning the springs to the new weight, a fresh bottom-seal so the foam isn't undone by a leaky bottom edge, and a written balance test before sign-off.
A proper garage door insulation visit includes:
On-site R-value assessment and weight check
Polystyrene or polyurethane retrofit panels
Weather-seal and bottom astragal upgrade with insulation work
Spring re-tension to match new door weight
Full insulated-door (3-layer steel-poly-steel) replacement quote
Sound-dampening rubber backer between panels
Final balance test and force-limit adjustment
Small symptoms become expensive when the door keeps cycling.
Clean process, from first call to final balance test.
Tell the dispatcher what failed. Photos help, but they are not required.
The closest stocked van gets the ticket and you get the ETA.
Spring math, cable tension, track, opener force and safety reverse checked.
You approve the written number first. Most jobs finish the same visit.

Photos from real GTA driveways, not stock libraries.
Springs cycled past their lifespan, openers that lost a logic board after a power surge, panels punched by a bumper at 2 km/h — the work in the photo gallery is the same work the dispatcher will quote you on the phone.

"Tech rang the doorbell at the 33-minute mark on a Sunday. Both torsion springs swapped, door rebalanced, opener re-paired. Quote on the driveway, invoice matched. I'm keeping the magnet on the fridge."
"Three other companies sent me to voicemail. In-Trust picked up, explained the $29 service call, diagnosed the spring system on-site, and the invoice matched the quote. No upsell, no surprise."
"Door wouldn't latch and I had a 7am meeting. They re-aligned the sensors, snugged a loose track bolt, and were back in the van in 22 minutes. Booking them for the new install in May."
Questions customers ask before booking.
Will insulation make my door too heavy?+
It adds 15–25 lb. We re-tension the springs to match as part of the insulation work.
Retrofit or new door?+
Retrofit if the door is under 8 years old and structurally sound. New door if it's older — the long-term comfort and energy savings usually justify the upgrade.
What R-value should I aim for?+
R-12 minimum for an attached garage in the GTA. R-16 to R-18 if there's a finished room directly above.
Does insulation help with summer heat too?+
Yes — the same foam that holds heat in winter keeps the garage 8–12°C cooler in July. Big difference for finished garages and gym spaces.
